Net Worth, Debts & Assets
Overview
Your net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe. JoinFunds brings together your bank accounts, physical assets (property, vehicles), and debts (loans, mortgages, credit cards) into one clear picture.
View your net worth
Open Net Worth
Click Net Worth in the sidebar under the Manage section. The Overview tab shows your total net worth with a breakdown chart.
Understand the breakdown
The donut chart shows your financial composition:
- Green segments — assets (accounts, property, vehicles)
- Red segments — debts (loans, mortgages, credit cards)
- Centre number — your net worth (assets minus debts)
Add a debt
Go to the Debts tab
On the Net Worth page, click the Debts tab, then Add Debt.
Fill in the details
- Name — e.g., "Car Finance" or "Student Loan"
- Type — personal loan, car finance, BNPL, student loan, mortgage, overdraft, or credit card debt
- Lender — who you owe
- Original amount — what you initially borrowed
- Current balance — what you still owe
- Interest rate — annual percentage rate (APR)
- Monthly payment — your regular payment amount
- Currency — GBP, EUR, or RON
Record payments
Click on any debt to see its detail page. Click Record Payment to log a payment. The balance updates automatically.
Use the payoff calculator
Open a debt with interest rate
The payoff calculator appears automatically on any debt that has both an interest rate and monthly payment set.
See your projection
The calculator shows:
- Payoff date — when you'll be debt-free at current payments
- Total interest — how much interest you'll pay overall
- Months remaining — how many payments are left
Try overpayments
Use the overpayment slider to see how extra monthly payments could help:
- Months saved
- Interest saved
- New payoff date
- Side-by-side burndown chart
Add an asset
Go to the Assets tab
On the Net Worth page, click the Assets tab, then Add Asset.
Choose the type
- Property — houses, flats (add the address)
- Vehicle — cars, motorbikes
- Other — jewellery, collectibles, investments
Track value over time
Click on any asset to see its detail page. Click Update Value to record a new valuation. The history chart shows how the value has changed.
Joint debts and assets
If you have a partner on the Plus plan:
- Toggle Joint when creating a debt or asset
- Joint items are always visible to both partners
- Non-joint items follow your visibility setting (Shared or Private)

Credit card debt from linked bank accounts is included automatically — no need to add it as a separate debt. Use the payoff calculator to compare paying off high-interest debts first (avalanche method). Archive debts you have paid off instead of deleting them, to preserve your payment history. Update asset values quarterly for an accurate net worth picture.
